その場所にやどる様々な記憶、空気感、透明感を感じながら制作しています。
やがては、すべてが均質な世界となってしまうその前に、領域が境界線を浸食し合う束の間の現在という瞬間に、すべてを透過する光を捉え描きたいと思っています。

自分には、かつて南米旅行に出かけて常識が吹き飛んだという体験が有り、それが現在の絵画制作に大きな影響を与えていると思います。旅を続けるために、現実を自分で最初から知覚し認識し直すことが必要でした。そこで目にした光景は、鮮やかで神秘的で私の心を魅了し、そして残りました。
それ以来、世界を自分なりに知覚・認識し直し、表現すること、それが、絵画制作における主要なテーマとなりました。日常生活において、我々は、多くの情報を自動的に黙殺して、ほんの少しの情報で物事を判断している。それが常識に頼った判断です。しかし、私は絵を描くにあたり、科学やその他の常識を一旦排除して、物事を、世界を、全ての感覚を駆使して自分なりに解釈し直してみる。人類の知識の積み上げを、丸ごと否定するのではないが、疑いの心も忘れず、物事を見直してみるという姿勢です。
そして、そのような旅のあとで、それまで当たり前に自分の周りにあった日本的なものがより強く意識される様になりました。一旦、常識が吹き飛んだあとに見た日本が、また新鮮で、日本的な部分がより強調されて、異様でしかもより魅力的に見える様になりました。そのような和の心は、私達の周りの景色だけでなく、様々な文化、たとえば、現在のサブカルチャー、漫画、アニメ、ラノベ、映画、音楽等の中にも色濃く見受けられます。こうした文化の中にあるエッセンスを抽出して、日本絵画の歴史をふまえ、現代の日本の絵画というべき作品を描きたいと思います。

Doing a painting, I try to sense various memories, the spirit and the feeling air has, which stay in the space and isn't visible.
Before everything will become the homogeneous world later, at the present moment, various areas erodes the borderline each other, I want to catch the light that penetrates everything, and to draw it.

When I had a travel to South America many years ago, my common sense blew off. the experience has a big influence on my present way of thinking of painting. It was necessary to perceive and recognize actuality again from the beginning by oneself, to continue the travel.The view, on which I laid eyes there, was vivid and mysterious and charmed me deeply, and gave me lasting impression.
Since then, it has been one leading theme of painting, to perceive and recognize actuality again from the beginning, before painting. We take no notice of a flood of information around us automatically and judge a matter by just a little limited information in daily life. That's a judgement by common sense. But, Doing a painting, I once exclude the common sense which are science or others, and then, I interpret actuality or the world again by using all senses in my own way. I don't deny buildup of human knowledge wholly, but I emphasize to reconsider a matter by a heart of a question.
And then, after such travel, I became conscious of something Japanese, which was around me up to that time, harder. After my common sense blew off once, I saw Japan emphasized by something Japanese, more. it seemed to me fresher, stranger and more attractive. Such Japanese soul is also seen deeply in the various culture, As well as the scenery around us in Japan. For example the present subculture, manga, animation, light novel, movie and music, etc. Picking the essence in such culture out, taking history of a Japanese painting into consideration, I'd like to draw a work like a present-day Japanese painting.
